ABOUT US

We are Josh Larson and Charlotte Durif, two passionated climbers, travelers and life enjoyers. Our paths crossed in 2013 when Charlotte went to Boston for an internship in MIT and happened to go climbing at the Metrorock Gym where Josh was setter and coach. The current passed instantly, and we confirmed our good ability of living together through the LOST trip : 100 days on the road in an RV, driving from the best climbing destination in North America to another . Since then, and despite a big Ocean between us, life brought us frequently together for climbing trips, restaurants testings and simple (but amazing) life things.    We both are now co-owners of the media company called Cold House Media along side our friend Vince Schaefer.

I started climbing with my family at a very young age (6ish) with outdoors like bouldering in Fontainebleau and alpine multi-pitch in the French Alps.
At the age of 10, after doing rhythmic gymnastics, I quit gym and joined my brother at the climbing wall. Since then I've been competing and climbing outdoor in every continents and styles (routes, boulders, multi-pitch, big wall, deep water soloing).
End of 2016, I decided to take a break from competitions to focus on the last months of my PhD (in material science for nuclear chemistry and water filtration) ending in June 2017, and to focus on our World Tour project.

I'm currently an Engineer - Doctor in Science (chemistry, material sciences), innerly concerned to protect our wonderful Earth and Nature. Thanks to my years of competition and outdoor climbing, I like sharing my experience, which I did through different clinics, guest coach and setting all around the World.

Climbing came to me via a YMCA in Worcester, MA, and I instantly fell into the sport, but life and a full-time job as electrician brought my climbing to a stop - for 5 years!
Fortunately, that life brought me back into climbing in 2008 and I quit my electrician position to become 100% involved in the climbing community.
While working at MetroRock Boston, MA as head setter and youth/ private coach for years, my friend Dave Wetmore and I created what would become the famous Dark Horse Series in Boston.

A few years ago I became a freelance setter (USA Climbing Certified Level 4 Route Setter), climbing coach and professional climber. I got to share my experience through competitions, guest coaching, consulting and private training around the globe. Opportunities led me to work as U.S. Youth Climbing Team Assistant Coach since 2014 and the current U.S. Adult Climbing Team Manager & Coach.
